New Feature: Employer UIF Number Verification
We’re introducing UIF Number Verification, which will help ensure that your UIF submissions to the Department of Employment and Labour are made successfully.
Why this change
The UIF numbers of employers who submit directly via SimplePay are now verified beforehand, ensuring smoother processing. We’ve built this verification step right into SimplePay, so it’s one less thing for you to manage manually.
How it works
You can find the new Proof of UIF Number field on the Employer Filing Details screen. Simply upload any government document containing both your company name and UIF number, and our team will review it.
You’ll be able to check the verification status directly on the system.
What to expect
From 1 September 2026, UIF verification will become mandatory for all new companies added to your existing SimplePay account. Until this is complete, you won’t be able to make UIF submissions for those companies directly from SimplePay.
From 1 October 2026, this requirement will extend to your existing companies as well, rolled out in batches. You’ll receive an email one month before your account’s submissions are blocked, giving you time to complete verification.
We encourage you to verify early to avoid any disruption to your payroll processing.
